Presilli Hills

Pentre Ifan Burial Chambre

1/3

Reckoned to be the most interesting place in Wales, a very mini Stonehenge.

27 miles, 44 minutes en route to Newport.

Small parking area.

Bluestone Brewing Company. Is not far away. Not open everyday so worth looking a the website before making the detour. Location.

Pentre Woods

A mile or 2 from the burial rocks is the woods.

Lots of interesting walks on the map.

Small car park.

Woods walk

Cilwendeg Shell House Hermitage

1/3

This house covered in shells looks fascinating. It has a strange history, bit on the weird side.

The house itself is a 6 minute walk from the car park, but how to find the car park is anyone's guess. According the website you have to book an appointment.

25 miles, 45 minutes.

Ffynone Waterfalls

Never been here but must do it on our next visit. Never been here but must do it on our next visit. L might be up for some wild swimming.

Small car park. Instructions say ...

To reach the waterfall, simply follow the path straight without turning off. On your way, you’ll walk alongside the unnamed lake formed by the river and past the abandoned Pont Newydd cottage. Both of these will be on your left-hand side as you walk towards the waterfall.

Once you reach the waterfall, it’s also possible to climb around the edges and get a bird’s eye view, however, be warned as the edges here are very steep and sudden so I wouldn’t recommend this part for young children.

The Ffynone Arms is 2 miles away.

A map of the 4 miles, 2 hour, circular walk starting at the car park is shown here.
